Hijac - 2020 Vision feat. FIA & s.g.cackle
“2020 Vision” is a new song created by rising producer Hijac, alongside the bold and beautiful artist FIA and s.g.cackle.
FIA is a British/South Asian pop songwriter, producer, and visual artist. She has been supported by BBC Introducing for her bold lyrics and bass-heavy beats which create a futuristic experimental pop. She strikes an amazing balance of being playful and serious through her exploration of sound, which is a perfect curation of songs for your 'crying in the club' moments.
Hijac creates obscure glossy sounds that have been injected by unapologetically queer artists in the Hyperpop / Bubblegum Bass scene. Through versatile production, his debut single ‘Go’ was featured on Annie Nightingale’s BBC Radio 1 show.
“2020 Vision” sees FIA discuss the depths of frustration experienced as a result of the global pandemic. Elements of irritability are immediately apparent and honed down throughout the tracks slogan of “2020 vision got me livid this ain't living , I'm just sitting waiting for the time to pass” as the current state of affairs are seen to leave FIA feeling stagnant.
Hijac’s Electro-pop inspired production moved to fully utilize the tracks backdrop as it was comprised of an array of distorted synths at varying intonations, ever present toms and an intermittent digital piano riff in attempt to fully capture the listeners imagination.
