TrueMendous - You Don't Wanna
TrueMendous is back with her third drop of 2021. Alongside her high energy new release ‘You Don’t Wanna’, she’s also provided a sneak peek of her single ‘Y’. The two tracks demonstrate contrasting elements to TrueMendous' sound, as she is able to display her signature flow over two different styles of instrumentation.
Her upcoming 17-track album ‘Misdiagnosis of Chyvonne Johnson’ follows off the back of her successful debut project ‘HUH?’, released back in 2020. She also delivered music videos for ‘Out My Face’, ‘Sweetheart’, ‘O.T.Y.L (Part 2)’ and ‘That Don’t Mean’, which collectively sit on over 190.000 views. Two tracks taken off the project made it onto the FIFA 21 Soundtrack and the ‘COLD.RDY’ campaign by Adidas.
She has received a wide variety of support, this includes radio plays on Radio 1, BBC West Midlands, Kiss FM, Kiss Fresh and Apple Music 1. She has also had playlist inclusions on Made in the UK playlist by Ministry of Sound and a recent feature on Notion for her single ‘Worst Child’.
‘You Don’t Wanna’ showcases TrueMendous’ powerful articulation and incredible vocal control ; similar attributes can be seen to be displayed in her 2021 single ‘Cause A Scene’. On this track however she manages to navigate her way through an eerie and ominous backdrop whilst touching on deceit and dysfunction in relationships, alongside the protection of peace in an action packed 1 minute and 40 second candid eruption.
